Itlay, Slovenia, Croatia "Here We Come"

Devon and I are now geting ready for our next bike adventure. We will be leaving for Bologna, Italy on Feb 27th and arriving home 9 weeks later on May 1st.

We are taking our non-electric touring bikes that we have been using for years for traveling. The bikes are now packed and ready to go. For those of you who have not seen this short 3 minute music video, from a previous trip, well here it is, I think you will enjoy it.

We are planning on making a couple of posts per week with an interactive "RideWithGPS" map with camera icons that contain photos and locations of where taken.  The postings will be short with lots of pictures, hopefully telling a story, and without a lot of dialogue.

Below is our proposed route starting in Bologna, over the top of the Adriatic and down through Slovenia and Croatia.  Like most of our bike trips we plan our routes daily so this route is just for basic planning. We're already thinking about throwing a train ride in on the way back from Trieste, Itlay to Vicenza, Italy. This will allow us to bike westward below the Alps to Bergamo, then head south to Pavia, back east through Piacenza, Parma, Modena and finally back to Bologna. Then again we may alter the course dramatically to somewhere else. But for now this is our plans.

We love it when people ask questions, make comments, or have recommendations. The comment space is at the bottom of each post, make sure you hit the "PUBLISH"  and the "NOTIFY ME" buttons if you want to see other comments or reactions. If you register to "FOLLOW" then you won't have to be anonymous on the comments. There is also a "SHARE" Icon as well, please share this blog with anyone who maybe interested.

Enjoy.

    1. The amazing Godspeed was rehearsed and pretty much ready to go. The complete from scratch takes about 3 hrs for two bikes.

  5. I'm SO happy to see your photos - mind you, that IS, Indeed, the weirdest bathroom 'accessory' I've ever seen – perhaps intended for playing to cover up unpleasant noises? very funny.

Thank god Devon has new knees - laughed out loud seeing the stairs you would have to climb to your rooftop apartment - too funny. Such a gorgeous couple of spots you were able to get - very 'classy'! Also really love the dancing in the rain colonnade – you just needed a top hat!

Why I'm not loving are all the photos of tortellini in its many outfits - MY FAVOURITE! So you are just taunting us all. Assume you will be an expert by the time you return so we will expect similar offerings when we invite ourselves to dinner.

Great to see you on your bikes again. But please, ease into it (as if you would) so you aren't laid low by overexertion and unrealistic expectations. Love to you both xo
